Dayyaan Galiem

 

 

Dayyaan Galiem (15) is setting the cricketing world alight, the Rondebosch boys player scored 196 not out (76 balls) against DF Malan in a 20/20 over match for his school’s first team on Saturday. He capped off his all-round ability by taking 9 wickets for 1 run in a declaration match against the same the school on the day and has represented WP youth cricket in the different age groups from an early age.

Dayyaan has just turned 15, plays for Rondebosch Boys and has been part of the WP setup since u11.. He's an genuine all rounder that bats at no 3 and opens the bowling.

At age 12 playing in the Rondebosch u13A side he scored nearly 900 runs that season with average of 71 and took 2-3 wickets a game and continued with his good form the following year and was again selected in the WP u13 side where he was the leading run scorer at the end of the National Standard Bank u13 week.

In 2011 Dayyaan was 1 of 2 14 year old boys picked in the WP u15 side and followed on from where he left off the year before and had a batting average of 118 as well as picking up wickets.

Just last week he was picked to play in the WP  u19 side to play Border in a 3 day match. He came into bat quite late (8) as he was the youngest player in the side.. He scored 102 not out.

 

Watch out for this young man, he is already labelled as the next Jacques Kallis.
