Schools Athletics Meetings

January 13, 2012
With all schools in the Western Cape now back to full operational activity and the fisrt term well underway, all attention now turns to what this term is really all about. During the 1st term there is only ONE important issue, the Schools athletics meetings.
From early morning, well before the first bell rings, athletes are out on the practice fields preparing for these long anticipated events. It all starts with the Inter-House meetings. This is where athletes compete for the right to represent their schools in the upcoming Inter-Schools meets. But in addition to this, there is also the small matter of being crowned "Champion House" at the school and the accomponying boasting rights for the next year.
Lest we not forget about those members of the school choirs, whilst not representing the school on the field of play, they prepare their repotoire of songs and dance moves with equal gusto. For after all, they will be cheering on their heroes from the stand and lend that extra bit of support, which could well determine victory or despair.

Here at www.irfaansquared.com we want to hear the stories from your schools. So put pen to paper or those fingers to the keyboards and share your stories with us.
